You can have a bank account at any age, just if you are under 18, one of your parents has to be the custodian on it. Meaning, that if you for some reason overdraft your account, then your parents have to pay the overdraft fee and the balance. And as far as features, it all depends on what bank you go with. I use Bank of America and I have a student account with them and I have a Debit/Credit card with them.

You can have a bank account as soon as you are born. You can usually not get a credit card in your name alone until you are 18- younger if your parents are on the card as well. Typically you can get a debit card on your checking account at 16- but you need to have a parent attached to the account until you are 18.

Checking accounts tie into a debit card and on must be 18 yrs of age. You can open a savings account with your name and be under 18 yrs of age however you will need to have someone that is over 18 yrs to be on the account with you. a credit card requires on to be 18 yrs of age or older.

It depends on where you are. If you're a legal adult according to the state (18 in most states... 19 in mine, stupid state), then you can have a bank account of your own. You can have a debit card through your bank account though as soon as you're old enough to have a joint account, and all privileges of a bank account as soon as you're old enough to have your own.

A checking account and credit cards all constitute binding contracts - thus you must be 18 (or have an adult signer).

You can have a banking account at any time, your legal guardian has to "co-sign" on the account before you're an adult however.
