This is for science and I have to plot the mass and distances on a graph. The first two points is: Mass- 5g and distance 8.5. I am stuck!!!

You set your x/y axis ( coordinate grid) and then plot your points. If your axis are something other than numbers, write their lables. If they are just numbers, then for example: the point ( 3,5) means go over to the right 3, and up 5. It's pretty much like every other line graph except that you don't connect the dots.

just put them as ordered pairs and point them on a grid paper

A scatter plot is a plot of the values of Y versus the corresponding values of X:

* Vertical axis: variable Y--usually the response variable
* Horizontal axis: variable X--usually some variable we suspect may ber related to the response
