People who work their butt off do get into good colleges. The valedictorian at my school went to Yale, and she was white. Most of the people at my school who go to college go instate to an average school. Most prestigious schools only have a 1 or 2 percent hispanic population and a 6 percent black population. You shouldn't be talking considering the fact that hispanics make up 15% of the American population and Blacks make up about 12%, last I checked.

Dude, it's called affirmative action, and it's not about blacks and Hispanics thinking they're more special than others; it's about legislation passed in a misguided attempt to level the playing field. Btw... it's the same with jobs, especially government jobs, since they have diversity quotas to fulfill.
If you want to cry discrimination, fine. Most people agree that college admissions and jobs should be based on merits, but in the real world, it's not. With jobs its even worse, since often times it's based on who you know.

well.cause it Is the same as employment..there is a certain quo that every place has to have. employees also have to have a minimum percentage of blacks and hispanics....so do Universities. I am sure they dont think they are better....they just know that they have a greater change of getting in cause they are minorities. Don't hate them......they are all very smart....they do deserve to be there...they ttest in just like everyone else. Check yourself and your sources before you ask silly questions. maybe look into a buisiness or econ class.

You seem to be under the misconception that all black college students are affirmative action enrollees. When I was a student it infuriated me when white students presumed that I was an affirmative action enrollee. With an IQ of 140, I think not!

generally speakin there is a whole lot more struggle for us latinos and blacks just to get into college never mind ivy league, now this isn't always true but pull any black and latino in college (very few to begin with) and ask them about their background.

why not? that's how they are being treated everywhere, at least in NYC. They would hire an ethnic person even if she/he has less or no education or experience before they even consider a white person who is more capable and competent on doing a job. I'm not talking about ethnic people who do have all the qualifications, just my experience, so please no rude remarks.

Well..you know what? They shouldn't. But the schools that they attend basically suck. Let's put it this way. An average black or hispanic 8th grader is equivalent to a average white/asian 4th grader.

I'm guessing you didn't get accepted and are angry and looking for someone to blame it on. Relax, it wasn't racial in your case. Look at your spelling and grammar, no wonder they didn't accept you.
