My boyfriend was insecure about many things such as the age difference between us, and if I would end up leaving him in a few years for someone younger. How could I convince him that his age doesn't matter and I am commited to him?

You can't! He has issues and he has to solve them. You can't ever do enough for someone like this, they are a bottomless pit of neediness. He needs to seek some counselling or just spend his life alone and miserable, hmmm doesn't seem like much of a decision to me. You can't fix it though, he has to. And you will leave him, not because of the age difference but because you will get sick and tired of his whining and stupidity. It seems cute now, but you are still deluding yourself about being able to 'fix' him, stop that cause you can't. Ten years from now when he's still whining about the same stuff how cute will it be? Its like having a puppy that is NEVER housebroken, you get tired of cleaning up crap and put the thing out eventually!

This may be something to take to a counselor to see what is bothering him. Is he using the age difference as an excuse not to move the relationship forward? There really isn't much you can do if he already isn't believing you. Even if he won't go to a counselor with you, you might want to go on your own.

Tell him if you wanted to be with a younger person, that's exactly what you would do. Since you're not doing that, that should be telling him something. How hard is that to understand?

i think the best way to approach anyone about "getting back together" is to be totally brutally honest/ esp with a sensitive guy/ cause they can "feel" if something is wrong/ and esp if you lied about something b4 then they are always looking for something to worry about~~~~but he must be worth it to you / so try talking to him~~
