I don't want to go in and get hubby all freaked out if it's nothing but then again I don't want to wait too long and then him not get home from work in time ya know? I'm not having contractions however every now and again I'll get a kind of jab pain in my left side and the baby is moving around as usual so what do you guys think? just need help makin up my mind here and some outside opinions may help thanks!

It sounds like you are getting ready to have a baby! I am supposing this is not your first, since you stated that you are not having contractions. You should be experiencing some braxton-hix contractions though. Without knowing much about you, my guess is just a guess, but here goes. The baby is probably on the large side of the scale, or you are a small frame. At any rate, the baby is positioning for birth---head down. His/her head is naturally larger in diameter than your pelvic opening. Adjustment and positioning will put pressure on the sacrum and coccyx (tail bones), causing pain and discomfort in more than half of all deliveries. The pain in your side could be from the baby kicking your kidneys. If it is sever enough to cause bloody pee, then you can use cold packs to encourage the baby to stop. Who is your prenatal caregiver? I suggest you contact them for q/a in your particular case.

Just trust your mommy instincts. It's not going to hurt anything to go in and get checked out. You never know, you could be starting labor pains and you could just have pressure from the baby "dropping." Maybe you could wait until morning and see if you can get into the doctor's office to get checked out if you don't really feel like you need to go to the hospital. That way they can check to see if you are dilating at all or if your cervix is effaced. Either way, no matter what the answers on here are, none of us know you or what you are feeling. If you would sleep better tonight knowing what is going on, then like I said trust your instinct. Us mommies can usually sense when something is not right.

Sometimes women will have most of their labor in their back. I did until I was on my way to the hospital. I would go and get checked out and then you or the nurse can call your hubby at work.

i think your fine with a 1st baby labor is very slow chances are good you will show up to EARLY to the hospital if you are not dialating they send you home anyway. IF you get very regular PAINFUL contractions or the water breaks that's labor! contraction with no pattren that are not PAINFUL are not LABOR. GOOD LUCK! Most 1st time mom take 12 hours or more to deliver "often longer" RARE cases sooner.

i think you should rest, wait and see
you're getting near the end and it's really hard, i know
get some rest
once your plug comes out or you start getting contractions at regular intervals - at least 3 or 4 in a row - then it's time to rock and roll
best of luck to you!

Better safe than sorry. Be honest with hub.

You may have a small leak which needs to be found now ...

Go in to your OBG right now ~ They'll send to hospital if needed.

Don't wait for appointment, just show up. This means business.

hmmm. I would say to be on the safe side go in. I know with my second one I just felt icky and then like 15 mins later my water broke. So if you feel like something is up then you may be right. Better safe then sorry. CONGRATS and goodluck

in my opinion i think that you should just wait and time ur pains if they are not atleast 5 mins apart then i really dont see a reason to go to tha hospital because they are just gonna send you back home just relax and suck on some ice cubes and keep track of how many mins apart ar you pains

I delivered both my children at 37weeks and my daughter caused tolerable labour. Labour actually does not hurt until the end once the baby crowns. Go to the doctor and tell your husband to chill you do not need stress.

go now and get checked...if you are in labor it's early enough for your hubby to get there. If you wait you may miss something and regret it later. Err to the side of caution!
