Had reflexology after suffering a stroke 3 years ago. I'm much better now and the reflexology felt nice but I don't know how much of my recovery is due to the treatment or good ol' mother nature. Try it. Done properly, it shouldn't do you any harm trying.

The Chinese developed a system of meridians ( lines of energy ) extending through the body in approx.5000 years BC. Along the meridians were energy points that could be worked in acupuncture, acupressure massage and reflexology, The Chinese saw the feet as a reflection of the health of the body and developed the system of reflex points. Reflexologists believe that there is a direct link between specific reflex points and specific organs in the appropriate zone. Thats the science!! Try it as a good reflexologist will massage and manipulate and leave you feeling wonderful - even if you don't believe the science you will have a wonderful foot massage!! Enjoy

I dislocated my left shoulder very badly during a full contact Karate match years ago.I continued to dislocate it regularly while still training in the sport. After much thinking I went to Amy Yuan,an acupuncturist in NY.I went for treatment 3 times total.I've never dislocated it again since,it's been 18 years.
I studied Chinese herbology and some reflexology during the 7 years I studied. There isn't much clinical evidence to support any of these practices, but I believe in it.Which is pretty profound considering my attitude on anything not supported by controlled clinical testing

Yes both, they work but do not cure everything but will ease symptoms of as well as curing.Depending where needles are placed they are not painful, you are of course aware where they are.The first person I knew that had accupuncture was my very arthritic mother who had needles put in all sorts of places including the corners of her eye sockets. She swore it delayed by years her need eventually for a wheel chair.
I've had needles for knee and ankle injury and they helped considerably.I've had reflexology for stress related problems and it helped.I also received advance warning of a shoulder problem before the sympots manifested themslves for which I subsequently had to have Chiropracter.physiotherapist and medical treatments. They bothwork for somethings but do not always cure.

No. I don't know what reflexology is, but acupuncture kind of freaks me out. I do not like needles. Especially when they are going into my skin. I just couldn't find that relaxing or healing or whatever it is supposed to do.

Ehm..
My friend Rose was about 50 when she first came upon a new natural kidney healing program. Her life had been devastated, literally ruined with stage 4 kidney disease. She had no life, no job because she was too sick to work, not enough energy to see her friends and sat around most of the time watching TV. She basically was waiting around for kidney failure and to start dialysis. She is much better now. She followed a natural method with great results. I totally swear by reflexology. Your whole body is actually mapped out on the soles of your feet. Once you learn this map, you can induce great feelings of well being in yourself.

my brother had his leg removed around a year ago, due to being a dialysis Kidney) patent fro 13 years.

he was on morphine every 2 hours to stop the pain (pre op)
If he did not have his morphine every 2 hours, he would scream in terrible agony.

I took him for acupuncture to remove the pain, which took him past his 2 hour schedule, in fact into 4 hours after his last dose.
it proved to me that acupuncture worked as he did not feel any pain whilst under acupuncture.

however use an approved therapist, a lot of people do a simple course just to qualify.

good luck
