they are not technically a "vegaterian". i know a guy that feeds his Pacu's goldfish instead of fish food. they can resort to plants if thats all they have to eat, but they can be aggressive and eat other fish in the tank, be careful. they are just called "vegaterains" because they prefer plants, but they will eat meat if they want to.

Yes they have food for plant eaters...like algae pellets and disks..but your fish will most likely nibble on your real plants because they taste the best. They will eat lettuce and peas. I use the frozen peas, just run them under some warm water and you can take off the hull if you like. I have read they get big and you will need up to a 250 gallon tank at some point and that they get territorial and one or two fish per tank is recommended. They also like salt, 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of water. Good luck! (pacu)

your pacu will eat fish flakes if there are no more plants to eat. so to get it to eat your fish flakes, take your plants out.

I don't think so, try keeping away the plants from it and use leaves that it will eat.
