You're right, we should have a police state in this nation. There should be garbage police that go through everyone's rubbish to ensure there is nothing illegal there. Also, every car should have a computer detection device that automatically transmits a ticket to law enforcement everytime you speed. Afterall - how do we know speeders aren't getting the chance to "get away" with it when the police aren't around?
Also, I think every internet connection - personal and business - should be monitored 24 hours a day. Anything suspicious should be investigated immediately.
Each household should have monitoring equipment and/or a law enforcement agent positioned inside. It's really the ONLY way to know if people are abiding by the law inside their homes where they think they're away from prying eyes.
Of course there is sarcasm in my answer, but it's to make a point. It's a slippery slope.

It must be nice to have all the answers. The problem is that this is a new issue and had to be dealt with on the run. I would guess that in the coming days and weeks, there will be a refinement to this process. It may not be politically correct to say so, but hopefully TSA employees are looking harder at Middle-Eastern men who look out of place. Some call that racial profiling...I call it focusing on the known demographic rather than wasting a lot of effort on old people with polyester pants.

not sure about the checks that are happening the US, but here in the UK passengers are able to carry liquids on board the aircraft, but not in the carry on baggage, it all has to go in the hold.
The reason for this, is the suspects they have were going to use liquid explosives, that need to be mixed on board the plane for them to be ready for detonation, so theoretically they can carry as much of this liquid in the hold as they like, but it cannot be mixed, thus is safe.
i suppose if they had some sort of device that could mix it after a period of time then it would be a major security issue, but the airport scanners would be able to detect these before loaded onto the airplane.
this is one of the causes of major delays here, as people are repacking all their shampoo's drinks etc inside their main case.

properly i'm in basic terms gonna provide her a call and chat a on an identical time as seeing as she lives in Massachusetts and that i'm on the west coast , inspite of the undeniable fact that I did deliver her a pair of recent Jammies that have Betty boop on em alongside with a card .

It would take too long to check everything, but they should use some criteria to check all they could. Like anything bigger than a certain size. Or anything you can't see through, anything locked or sealed. Those are my thoughts.

They probably are checking, they are taking things in a more secure location just in case something does blow up.

Very good question. I think airport security should inspect what's being dumped.
