I was a struggling newspaper reporter at a mid-size daily, just out of j-school, wondering what I was going to do with my career. I heard from a friend about a job opportunity in Prague. Four months later, with a few thousand dollars in my pocket and no idea where I was going to live, I caught a plane to Frankfurt, then rode the train into Prague. Was there for a couple years and loved the expatriate life.

Kaiserslautern, Germany
...lived there with my parents while my Dad served in the Army, THEN was sent there on orders myself after enlisting. What a coincedence!
The people dislike Americans very much and if you travel, forget asking anyone for help...and FORGET trying to figure out how to use their pay telephone system...HA!

I'm Canadian and I lived in India for 6 years. I moved in 2000 and now I'm back. Came to my home country on July 30th 2006. I left because my parents made me. My family (mom, dad, younger sis, and me) moved to India and I did my high school and college there.
My dad was the one who wanted to move. He hates the winter. Also it was a smart way of retiring.
