These are Freud's major contributions to psychology:
Human development is best understood in terms of changing objects of sexual desire.
The psychic apparatus habitually represses wishes, usually of a sexual or aggressive nature, whereby they become preserved in one or more unconscious systems of ideas.
Unconscious conflicts over repressed wishes have a tendency to manifest themselves in dreams, parapraxes ("Freudian slips") and symptoms.
Unconscious conflicts are the source of neuroses.
Neuroses can be treated through bringing the unconscious wishes and repressed memories to consciousness in psychoanalytic treatment.

Is this for your homework? If not you should know that Freud was on COKE! His ideas are all centered around his hate of his father and sexual interest in his mother. Every dream he interpreted had something to do with a penis. Freud is a joke when it comes to psychology. Move on , try Carl Jung on for size. Abram Maslow is another. Then after that you can get into existentialism. Enjoy, philosophy and psychology are so fascinating!

It's the parents fault. Little boys are obsessed with their mothers and want to eradicate their fathers-oepedial complex.
Most of one's dreams come from one's sexual frustrations.
Children get fixated at certain stages of development and stay there. Oral fixation-having to put everything in their mouths, they become over-eaters as adults.
