the speedometer cable has been broken for the last 25 miles, will that affect the performance of my bike

No, it won't affect performance. But if you don't inform the new owner of the bike, (if you were to sell it) that the odometer reading is incorrect, it's considered a criminal offense. Same as if you were to turn the odometer back on a car before selling it.

I rode my motorcycle for about 15,000 + miles with a disconnected speedometer cable. Didn't affect anything except my ability to tell by looking at the trip odometer whether I was running out of gas.

But still -- you might accidentally go above the speed limit while a cop is watching. Best get that fixed.

Your bike will appear to be going fast, but you will really be going 0 mph.

Don't worry about cops. Go as fast as you want. When the cop pulls you over, point to your speedometer and show him.

The bike may go faster than you want it to in Radar traps, but , otherswise, no.

Yes no matter how much throttle or what gear you are in you will only be able to go 0 MPH
