From their website, you need SP2 *IF* you have Windows XP HOME EDITION, check the requirements at this link and donwload Movie Maker 3.1 there

No matter what you should be running sp2 on xp already if not go and update it on microsoft.com. Then you will be able to use movie maker 2.

No you dont. You just need to have some version of Windows XP.

If you are not up to date with service pack 2 you need to get your machine offline and pack it back in it's box to ship back!
