The Marx brothers are just a different league. So far ahead of their time. It would still be contempory now. I think Groucho Marx was just pure genius. I appreciate it's not for everyone though.

The Marx brothers were always more serious than the Stooges. The 3 Stooges are always funny. I will agree on one thing; their antics were somewhat violent/distructive but I come from an era of those who just enjoyed that type of comedy without believing you had to go out in the world and do the same things to others. Laural & Hardy were quite funny as well as Charlie Chapman.

It's got to be the Marx Brothers. They were so clever, whereas the 3 Stooges were just slapstick. Give me a great one-liner over a poke in the eye any day of the week.

It's hard to say because they both had their own comic talent and both of them were pretty funny. There's a movie I enjoyed from the Marx brothers called, A Night At The Opera, and it was funny from start to finish. When I was watching many Three Stooges shorts, I was laughing for the rest of the day because of their slapsticks and the crazy stuff they done.

The Marx Brothers are funnier. Groucho Marx was one of the wittiest people who ever lived. He would have been a huge star on his own without the other 3 brothers.

tough call. Stooges are great at slapstick humor so they would be top dog. The Marx brothers are all around entertaining. so my vote is groucho and his bros with the stooges a very close second.

3 stooges was pure slapstick, while the marx brothers were a hybrid. i prefer the marx brothers, but if the three stooges were a triplet set of curly, then they'd win!
