I am freaking out. I have heard this can be normal. I will try and see my Dr today but has this happened to others - what did your Dr say?

Actually, the fetus attaches to the uterine wall (implants) at around 2 weeks, not 11 weeks, so this spotting would not be due to that.

But it can still be perfectly normal in pregnancy. Still, any book will tell you that you should still always call your doctor about any bleeding you see and at the least speak with him/her over the phone about it.

Best of luck, honey. I would not be too anxious since it is not heavy/bright red and is just light spotting.

First off, don't listen to Jitsen. They obviously don't know what they are talking about. Spotting is perfectly normal in pregnancy but sometimes it can mean miscarriage. What color spotting is it and how much? I've been told that brown and pink spotting is ok. Just as long as it doesn't turn bright red. Try not to worry about this. Many women have spotting during pg and are perfectly fine. I know "easier said than done" Just try to relax and get your DRs opinion. If they think something is wrong they will have you come in and check you out. Don't listen to other people when they tell you that you will miscarry because you are spotting! That is the worst advice anyone can give.

see a dr immediately. I miscarried at 8 weeks, and had light spotting. The dr on the phone asked me what color it was. It was brownish, then turned bright red after several hours. Then the next day, a gush of blood. If you are miscarrying, there is nothing you can do about it, but please see your dr now so you wont get all worked up over it.

Vaginal bleeding prior to 20 weeks gestations is by definition an abortion. There are various types of abortion, complete, inevitable, missed, imcomplete, and threatened. It all depends on whether or not you passed fetal tissue of membranes. I'm assuming you don't have an ectopic pregnancy and have a regular intrauterine pregnancy. You didn't provide many details but, it sounds like you only had light spotting and no passage of tissue or membranes. So you either have a missed abortion, inevitable abortion, or an incomplete abortion. This would depend on whether you have an open cervical os, and whether the fetus still has a heart rate on transvaginal sonogram. Go see your doctor today. Most likely light vaginal spotting is only related to a threatened abortion and will have no negative longer term effects on your preganancy or the health of your baby. I hope this helps and good luck.

Yea that can be normal so don't get to worked up because when you get worked up then your blood pressure goes up and that can make you bleed more. I would say to worry if the blood gets more heavy and with cramping. Either way make sure you see the doctor as soon as you can. Goodluck

This is about the time the fetus attaches to the uterine wall and often times it causes you to spot a bit.

It happened to me too and was terrified. But unless you are crapming and having bright blood, no worries.

Take care and happy motherhood. It's the best!

yes it happened to me but I was much earlier in my pregnancy and under at lot of stress. He told me it was a threaten miscarriage and ordered me to go straight home and go to bed and stay there until it stops. he told me if the bleeding got worse and or I had cramps to either go back to see him or go to the out patients in the hospital.all the best. try not to stress out to much if you can go to bed lie down and stay there only get up to go to the toilet. until you can see your Dr.

Check with your doctor. The first trimester is the time when you are most likely to have miscarrages so I would check with a doctor to be sure. Try webmd.com
