I like your question for it is simple in its form without any preconceived notions or anything like that. Even with that being said, the first couple of answers could not even answer a direct question.

I am in the field of the conservative thinking, although taken literally, certainly I would be more inclined to consider myself a classical liberal in the sense of believing that liberty for all politically and economically is the best device to ensure the equality of all and the protection of our God given rights of life, liberty and property. However, I assume that by your question you are looking to make a contrasting remark, thus pitting conservative vs. a liberal (used in today's terms) philosophy.

I think it is important to understand that the two are not political parties but instead philosophical view points that sometimes certain parties will espouse. Being a conservative in no way puts you in the republican ranks, although it definitely does not put you in the democrat ranks and vice versa for liberal.

I am a conservative because the conservative minds of old fall in line with what I believe, or maybe at times it is the other way around. I believe in a conservative approach to social issues, believing that intervention by the state should be at a minimal, only making sure that each citizen is not having their inalienable rights being violated.

On fiscal matters I am the same, believing that a conservative approach to the market will best suit the market, allowing it to run its course, as long as no business is exercising an unfair advantage over another in terms of keeping one from being able to perform.

I'm conservative, the reason why is simple. Liberals don't use common since. 90% of conservative views make sense. They are rational and moral. And I'm saying this as a pro choice athiest! Still consider myself very conservative.. read some liberal literature and you'll know.. all liberals do is complian and point fingures. None of their views or stances on things better society and the goverment. They just are not logical.

Subject: FW: World's Heaviest Element Discovered!

A major research institution (MRI) has recently announced the discovery of the heaviest chemical element yet known to science. The new element has been tentatively named "Governmentium." Governmentium has 1 neutron,12 assistant neutrons, 75 deputy neutrons, and 225 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 313. These 313 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

Since governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected as it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of governmentium causes one reaction to take over 4 days to complete when it would normally take less than a second. Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2 years; it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact,
governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause some morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.

This characteristic of moron-promotion leads some scientists to speculate that governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as "Critical Morass." You will know it when you see it.

I'm used to be a conservative but know I'm both beacause Neocons don't seem to get this quote:

"Sacrifice liberty for security and you will get neither."

Individualist. I do tend to vote Conservatively, but I hate being put into a certain voting category. I'd rather make up my own mind instead of letting my party make it up for me.

Moderate, reality drives in the middle of the road, where gutters to the left and the right are filled with trash.
