Easy short cut for these. Add up the digits of the number.

If the sum of the digits is divisible by 3, the number is divisible by 3.

If the sum of the digits is divisible by 3 and the number is even, then the number is divisible by both 3 and 6 (and 2 for that matter).

If the sum of the digits is divisible by 9, the number is divisible by 9.

#1 5 + 2 + 7 = 14 which is NOT divisible by 3.

If the number were 573, you'd have 5 + 7 + 3 = 15, which IS divisible by 3.

#2 1 + 0 + 4 + 8 = 13 which is NOT divisible by 3.

If the number were 1056, you'd have 1 + 0 + 5 + 6 = 12, which IS divisible 3, plus 1056 is even, so 1056 is divisible by 6.

#3 6 + 9 + 3 = 18 which IS divisible by 9 (and divisible by 3 for that matter).

One more example:
1044 would be 1 + 0 + 4 + 4 = 9 which IS divisible by 3, IS divisible by 9, and IS an even number, so it's divisible by 3, 6, and 9.

1. No. Just add the numbers together, and if it comes out as a multible of 3, the larger number is a multible of 3.
2. yes 80 (8 x 10) + 24 (8 x 3)=104 = 8 x 13
3. Yes, 630 (9 x 70) + 63 (9 x 7) = 693 = 9 x 77

Just take a calculator, divide the first number by the second number...if it comes out a whole number then it is divisible by that number. (This is the easy non-thinking way)

1.no
2.no
3.yes (77 x 9)

Unless this is a trick question that allows the answer to have two decimal places, the only one divisible with a whole number answer is #3. Use your caculator, if you missed long division!
