It's a parlor palm of some sort. Chamaedorea is the botanical name of several palms of this type.

This is a member of the palm (I think) family. What ever you do don't take it out of the pot and plant it in the ground as it becomes a pest and very hard to control. Makes a lovely indoor plant with good light. Water only when dry.

Areca Palm definately. Grows outside in S. Florida (sub-tropical) but will do well as a potted plant with proper care anywhere.

It's a type of palm that is grown indoors. I had one for alot of years, it grows best near a window. Keep it indoors, it is not hardy to outdoor temperatures, care for it like all your other houseplants.

Oh how pretty, my mom has had that plant, I don't know the name. But the zone is sunny, doesn't rain a lot (but we water it), a little more dry then humid area.

But of course, I could be completely wrong lol.

Thanks for the pic. I think it's an Areca Palm. They are grown in Florida for the houseplant trade. We can't keep them growing here in SoCal. Not enough humidity.

Good luck :-)
