I was a waitress while putting myself through college and you can make really good money but you will have to work your butt off for it. The hourly pay is generally low (around $3 an hour) but I have made up to $300 a night as as server in tips. You will also have to deal with people who are rude and have nothing better to do than be mean to a waitress but there are also some nice ones too. You have to have very good organizational skills as well. Good luck!

The best way to find out is to visit the business you are going to work at before you start, eat there and talk to your waitress about her earnings. Be sure to leave a good tip!
