When using an air compressor with my cigar lighter the fuse keeps getting blown, other accesories such as phone chargers dont have a problem. I'm wondering if this could be either a problem in the wiring, the air compressor calls for too much power, or a fault in the compressor? what do you guys think?

No theres nothing wrong with your car, or wiring.
The fuse is there to protect your wiring; the problem is the compressor, it's pulling too many amps.
That compressor was not designed to work on all cars.

Check the label on the compressor to see how many amps is draws. Then check your fuse to make sure it is the correct size (check your owners manual) It is possible that the compressor has a bad motor that is drawing too much or you could have a fuse that fits the holder, but is the incorrect amperage. Check the compressor by plugging into a different vehicle. Same result....bad compressor.
