I think the only way you will know if she will let you is to ask her. Twelve is a little young to be behind the wheel, but there would be nothing wrong with you getting a drivers manual and studying the laws in your area. I'm sure your mom would agree to that. By the time you're ready for a permit you'll know the laws so well that the written test will be a breeze, and all you'll have to do is learn the part your eager to do now - driving! When you start learning what the laws are, you could impress your mom by telling her when you are in a situation - like who has the right of way - or what a road sign means. She might be willing to let you practice a little earlier if you show that kind of responsibility.

No. For several reasons. As already stated, it is so illegal. You're not supposed to "practise driving" until you get your 30 day permit on the graduated license system, not sure how it works on other systems. Another good reason is that a twelve year old is still a child. While you may think that you're mature now, you have so much growing up to do. At twelve you are no where near mature enough to even think of operating a motor vehicle. And the last reason I'll give is slightly ambiguous. If you wanted to represent yourself as mature and conscientious person, you would have taken the ten extra seconds to use proper grammer, puncutation, and capitalization. Not doing so makes people think that you're not very mature and that you don't pay much attention to details.

I would say not in a public parking lot especially if it is busy. You can drive the car in your driveway back and forth because it's not a public way. I don't think there are any laws saying that you can't. If you know anyone who has a lot of land and some woods roads that are private you can do it there too. Just make sure you don't go on the road and get busted then you won't be able to get your license till you are either 18 or 21.

Look, are you responsible?Show you mom how responsible, good, and trustworthy before you ask. Do the dishes, set the table, clean out the dishwasher, transfer the load of laundry,(or hang it whatever),make your bed, clean your room, make mom and dad coffee,be nice to sibling, all without being asked. After she congratulates, thanks, etc., wait exactly 1 1/2 days until you ask, continue what you are doing to help, but wait until your mom see's no suspicions. Continue the help continuously, it will not only help you drive the car but it will also give you big cookie points with the parents. Raise in allowance, trip to the mall just for you, able to invite friends over ALL the time, grounding acceptances (or at least shorter grounding periods),and maybe just an ice cream once and a while. Good luck!

If ur just going out to a parking lot it should be fine. My husband has been driving sense he was 12, and because of the experince he is a great driver. I feel more safe driving with him then I do with anyone else. Practice makes perfect write.

If you're not old enough to have your own Yahoo! account let alone a 360 page you're probably not old enough to drive yet.

And if you want to drive well NEVER play any "Crazy Taxi" game. Absolutely never. The maneuvers in the game are technically impossible to do and the "crazy dash" can ruin your transmission. Never try anything from those games at home.

I think that you are a little yong maybe around 14-15 but not 12. Not even 13 I think. But it is good that you pay attention. But you could also go and talk to your mom about it and see what she thinks. That would be your best bet I think.
