Muslims fear backlash over disrupted attack:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14290351/

Why would they fear a backlash? I mean, they gave us 9/11, they gave us the Bali bombings, the Londong bombings, the Spain bombings, the French riots, the Danish cartoon riots, the India bombings, the Lebanon bombing that killed the former prime minister, the current war with Israel, the terrorist-led killings in Iraq, the killings and war in Somalia.

Of course, Muslims are peaceful loving people. They're not ALL actual murderers. Only 25-30% of them are, and the other percentage sits silently in agreement, making donations, looking the other way.

Comon people, don't hold Islam and its sick following accountable, that is racist, bigoted, not open minded, not engaging in dialog, and worse, NOT UNDERSTANDING their grievances. We need diplomacy people!!!

The Muslim guy in the article said:

“We ought to take advantage of these incidents to make sure that we do not start a religious war against Islam and Muslims,”

Uh-Maybe you should convince your Islamic and Muslim peers not to BLOW PEOPLE UP! Give me a friggin break! It would appear to me that Islam and the muslims have waged a war against US.

Like the questioner said, They can't sit back and say nothing when the terrorists wreak havoc and then turn around and cry wolf everytime some one uses the word Islamic in the same paragraph as terrorist.

F*ck that.

Not all Muslims are extremists, terrorists, or terrorist-minded. However, there is a substantial part of that community that is.

It's time for Muslims to take accountability for their religion and culture. Stop spinning, and address the fact that the Muslim culture is one of the most oppressive and violent cultures, against its own people, and certainly against other cultures.

For those who believe that the extremist element in Islam is small, the numbers are staggering. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in this world. Lets take a very liberal view that only a very small percentage of Muslims are exterme, while the rest of the Muslim world is very peaceful. So if only 10% of Muslims have extreme point of views, and may be a threat, and must be dealt with, meaning dealing with 120 million Muslims! How about 1%? Then you must deal with 12 million Muslims. How about 1/10 of a percent? Then you must deal with 1.2 million Muslims. The numbers are staggering! How do you propose dealing with even the "very low" figures of 1.2 million Muslim extremists?

I am sick and tired to hear from Muslim leaders appearing on TV continue to claim that Islam is such a "peaceful" religion(!). Well, thank Allah Islam is a "peaceful" religion. Can you imagine if it weren't??! The Islamic community must take accountability and help eliminiate its extreme element. Any other civilized community would. The peaceful Muslims MUST speak up and condemn, unequivocally, any act of terrorism, as any other civilized community would.

It would be to the benefit of the World to rid of Hezbollah, Hamas, the Syrian and Iranian regime. It must be done to finally have a chance for peace in the region.

analyze the finished question purely a sprint greater. Benghazi substitute into no longer the embassy, and probably no longer a consulate. Its mentioned the the ARB document because of the fact the SMC or particular Missions Compound. on the time of the attack there have been purely 7 individuals interior the compound, Diplomats Stevens and Smith, and 5 protection officers. There in no way substitute into any point out what the SMC does universal and how many human beings in contact. The ARB document does say protection measures have been susceptible, yet specially relating to the structures themselves, greater perfect partitions, gates, cameras, etc. regrettably those value money. There in no way substitute into any objective then or now to maintain a brilliant militia or protection presence at Benghazi, because of the fact there have been few if any those that at any time. The allegation that it substitute into by using "Muslim sensitivities", is in basic terms politically motivated hypothesis.

First of all my friend you are blaming all this on Muslims did you ever consider the other side of the story. First let me make it clear I don't support any kind of terror act nor from Muslims or Non-Muslims.

According to a recent US State Department report, Patterns of Global Terrorism, 272 terrorist events occurred in Europe, 92 in Latin America and 45 in the Middle East. Sixty-two anti-US attacks occurred in Latin America last year, 21 in Europe and 6 in the Middle East.

These numbers represent the terrorist trend and not an anomaly, whereby the majority of perpetrators are not linked to the Middle East or Islam. The Red Army Faction in Germany, the Basque Separatists in Spain, the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka, the Shining Path in Peru and the National Liberation Army in Columbia are not viewed with the same horror as terrorist groups of Muslim background.

The perception in the Middle East is that US policy does not serve the peoples' interests; it protects Israel, while it slaps sanctions on and takes military actions against countries which disobey its policy, resulting in suffering, starvation and even slaughter, all in the name of teaching the tyrants a lesson. The priorities in the Middle East for the US are not human rights and democracy, but rather oil and Israeli superiority. Consequently, anti-American sentiment increases.

This mood of the general public is then characterized as "Islamic fundamentalism", even though the resentment is not rooted in religion. When it turns violent, it is termed "radical Islamic fundamentalism" or "Islamic terrorism." The various "terrorism experts" promote linkage to the Middle East before any other possibility every time terrorism is speculated. They exploit the human suffering of the victims, their families, and the fears of the American public.

Indeed, extremists of Muslim backgrounds are violating the norms of Islamic justice and should be held accountable for their criminal behavior.

What's all this crap about backlash?

Are they afraid because if the situation was reversed, they'd have murdered or driven out every last Christian? Yes, I believe they would.

But no, they've received minimal backlash. I don't even think one has been murdered in the US because of 'backlash'. And considering the gun culture in the US, that speaks better of Americans than people are willing to credit us for. Not that we care, anyway.

No, unless something very very bad happens, there will again be no backlash. However, if something very very bad happens, I cannot vouch for their safety.

You can't blame the religion for the actions of the extremeists in it. Their behavior is rooted in culture and current events, not the religion itself. It simply takes refuge in the religion in order to justify what they do.

If we looked at what those in power used to do that happened to be religious figures or use religion at the time, pretty much any religion can be villified beyond any hope of salvation from condemnation. But if you actually look at the PEOPLE and not the religion they follow, you will find that the religion is only RARELY to blame, and even when it is, then it has more to do with taking the religion to an extreme that it was not intended for. By your justification, we should condemn both conservatives and liberals, because extremes on both sides have caused bloodshed and death. Blame the overreaction, not the moderation.

Yep

25-30% are to blame.

Yep

You are right - the others DO make donations and look the other way.

BUT all these goody goody two shoes that have a sickly smile on their face all the time which is saying something like "I know something you don't know - come to church with me and you will know too" don't like it.

BUT - deep down inside, they also know it is true.
They will just not admit it.
They honestly think there is some good in everyone.

It's only after they've been crapped on a few times do they start to change their minds.

It's okay for the darling Muslims to kill - "We forgive them" - but wait and see how they feel if it's one of their family that gets hurt.

"Oh, no" they will all respond.
"Jesus loves everyone"
"He died for us"

Well, a fat lot of good that did!
We haven't stopped fighting since . . . . .

I am not concerned about some kind of 'backlash' because there cannot be one. All terror has been STARTED by Arabs who are NAZI Socialists!

Islam is the religion of an ancient pirate, muhammed, who raped tortured, killed, innocent people, and later justified it with some kind of philosophy of an invention of religion.

Moslems follow the Anti-Christ! It is the duty of every free believer in God, to fight the terrorists, and all who support them!

I have less and less patience with Muslims being a religion of peace. When the "non violent" Muslims start speaking up against terror then I will start believing them and there so called peaceful message
Till then I will look at Muslims with suspicion

The Average Muslim would fear backlash becuase they aren't the ones doing it. They are law abidding citzens. Only terrorist who happen to be Muslim and use their religion as an excuse are the ones doing this.
