It is not the battery. It has been checked. It will turn over. Spark plugs have been checked. Once fuel pump was changed, it started and was started 6-7 times....then next day........nodda

For anyone following this mystery...........we are thinking that it is the timing belt that is causing the problem ......fingers are crossed

I am amused by some of these suggestions. :)
There are three things needed to start any engine , you need (spark),(gas),and (compression).
Remove one of the spark plug wires, take a screw driver insert it into the wire and hold it about a 1/4 of an inch from ground , have someone crank the engine over, to check for spark.
There should be a shrader valve on the fuel rail , take a small pin and insert it into the valve to check for fuel.
Now checking compression is a little more complicated , you'll need a gauge to do this.
Once you determine which one your not getting you'll have to go from there.
First things first are you not getting spark, gas,or compression

If you want to do this yourself, go to an auto part store and get an inexpensive code reader ($25) You can connect that and spin the engine over to get a code read. That may signal what the problem is. Remember...every engine needs fuel, air, and electricity. Your computer may be preventing one of those things from happening. If you have fuel, and the engine turns over, you likely have a computer issue of some kind.

Why did you decide to replace the fule pump? Seems like a strange place to start. Check for spark and check for compression in the cylinders.

You left out some detail. do you have gas, are the spark plug wires connected. Take and get it diagnosed. Do you hear it trying to start or is it just plain dead? Does the battery sound strong?

Check for fire at the spark plug wires . Fuel at the injectors and make sure there are no restritions in the air cleaner housing . Then go from there . Let us know what you have and don't have .

FIrst get a spark tester from your local autoparts. pull any 1 plug wire off and attach tester to a ground. Turn your car over and see if it has spark. If not your coil is bad. Also if you have distributor cap, turn it over at night while looking at the cap to see if you see sparks if so that is where you are losing spark. E-mail me if you need some more hints

which engine is in it? who told you to replace the fuel pump? that's alot of time and money for it not to work. Anyway, could be crank sensor, cam sensor, or any number of things. did you check to see if the valves are moving when you crank it? could be the timing belt/chain. Please give us some more info!

Does it turn over and just does not start? If so, then check for spark at the spark plugs.

Take it to a Chrysler dealer and get rid of your present mechanic.
I think you are being taken for a ride .
Make sure they do a computer diagnostic check .
It could be a starter ,battery or something simple .
Good luck
