Ouch! Mutual Funds won't do that for you.

Mutual Fund managers are interested in two things. Prove to thier bosses they are making money by getting a certain percentage of return on thier investments and getting your account fees. They do not care whether you are making money.

Here are a few of the best though. Will Danoff of Fidelity Contrafund. Richie Freeman of the Smith Barney Aggressive Growth Fund. John Hancock Classic Value Fund. Oakmark Equity and Income Fund. Look at Morningstar.com too. They can usually pick a good one too.

Know the fund and whats in them too. Make sure you agree with the stragedy and the stock performance. Over the life though, my experience is that mutual funds never give you the returns you really looking for. Look at the market now, mutual funds are getting hammered.

You can try closed end high yield bond funds and exchange traded corporate bonds. Conventional mutual funds are probably not a good choice when you need penalty-free accessibility.

When you find that holy grail, be sure to share it with us. Most mutual funds out there cannot compete with index funds such as VFINX, which simply tracks the S&P 500. (Averaged 11% per year since its inception in the 70s)
