On occasion, since I was a child, I hear what sounds like a radio in the distance when I'm just starting to wake up. Sometimes it actually wakes me up although there is no radio playing nearby, at least one that no one else near me can hear. I don't seem to hear it at any other times and I know I'm not dreaming it. So far, I can't find anyone else who has experienced this.

I occasionally hear a cell phone ringing when there isn't one. And I don't even have a cell phone! I'll hear it all through the day though, not just when I'm waking up. And it always happens when there's a lot of sound going on around me. Similar but different I guess. Maybe we're psychic. Or not!

"I hear music even when I'm not sleep deprived. Sometimes I think I hear the phone ringing too. Even when it's not. And I never get as little sleep as some of you seem to. For me not enough sleep means less than 6 hours more than one night in a row. Not getting this leads to slightly more unpleasant symptons than hearing music. I can not go on much less than that or I find myself curled up in a corner crying at the slightest provocation. This among other things has confused my school's teachers at times. Alternatly I may sit down and find myself almost unable to move."

I'll hear music or something, but then i think there's a radio because it sounds exactly like the music. Really I heard it's because it's sitting in the back of your head and you think about it without knowing, then, since your brain knowsthe song, you can hear all the layers of the song [vocals, guitar, drums, bass] and then you think you're actually hearing it. If you're talking about music, then it's happened to me too. I assume it could happen with like a talk show or something, but that has never happened to me.

Maybe in your neighborhood there was something that could act as a hollow mirror which sounds from far can amplify. When your head is in the focus you will think to have an auditive illusion.
