Easy. Iran is ruled by a THEOCRACY. A Theocracy is a government ruled by Priests or a God, through Priests. They "claim" a democracy, but if you push aside their "veil of democracy" you will see the Ayatolloah's making all the decisions and telling the Government, INCLUDING the President, just how FAR they can GO. In other words, the Ayatollah's are the rulers behind the throne. The Priestly rulers. Since, Islam is an extreme religion, and Iran and the Ayatollah Khomeini in the later '70's kidnapped the staff of the US Embassy, Iran has been ruled by HARD-LINED Religious leaders. They believe in supporting terrorism, Jihad's and Fatwa's (order's of death on idividual's heads - sometimes for money) all in order to "spare their religion any look of disrespect." Not realizing that what they do is what scars their religion as a nasty, hateful, bigoted nazi like institution.
So, all in the name of religion, they consider ANYTHING done in order to kill someone who disrespects them or Islam acceptable, that is why its considered TERRORIST and a sponsor of TERRORISM.

Hey well well according to the jackass bush administration Iran is a terrorist state which means that it harbors and sponsors terrorism. Also, not that the US went to war with Iraq very quickly because the Bush administration claimed they had weapons of mass destruction. It was later determined that they didn't. Now, North Korea and Iran are both working on nuclear weapons. In fact North Korea is very close to actually having one. They may already have one. Yet the Bush administration sees nothing wrong with using diplomacy with these two countries. I just find it interesting that they chose the country that posed less of a threat to us then many others to go to war with.

Well, the questions is a little bit awkward. Iran does not want American/western ideologies relinquished upon the government or their people, like many middle eastern cultures.
Essentially, some of it has to do with money and some has to do with religion. You see many pictures of people on the cover Time or what not, and inside, you'll see descriptions of their culture and lifestyle.
To a western society, their beliefs, religious structure, and caste system seem almost archaic and barbaric. Although I tend to steer a tiny bit to the right on this thought (marriage laws, human rights laws, etc) and they truly DO seem archaic, ultimately, it is not our culture.
To combat this, countries like Iran propose stern verbal threats to the West, in which we interpret it as "terrorism." By true virtue of the definition, it IS terrorism - we won't be stripping their people naked, hanging them whatever, and setting them on fire, but in their culture, this is what they do; the same thing happened in Somalia, but those people were not terrorists - they are going through a civil war in which the US should not be involved in, but did get involved in via the United Nations.
Is Iran considered terrorists? Yes, if you consider their methodology of invoking fear by the use of whatever means to harm the American way of life, absolutely.

Ok what I think you mean is why is Iran being labled as a terrorist state by the USA and other countries? Because they are supporting terrorism in countires such as Iraq and Lebannon. They may have been behind the terrorist plans this morning in England, or else where.

yeah, iran isnt a terrorist, it is a terrorist state! learn to type please. anyways, lets see, why is iran a terrorist state...well, its leader has claimed that it wants to wipe isreal off the face of the planet, another reason why it shouldnt get a nuke. it funds and supports terrorist cells and group around the world with its oil money, i.e. hezbollah (sp?). they tried a democracy in lebanon, but with iran funding and giving weapons the terrorist there, it now controls that country. it instills fear in that country and in isreal through the use of force. it uses women and children as human shields like the cowards they are. all because iran gives it money and weapons continuously, not to mention recent claims that iranian troops have been killed in lebanon...those are just a few of the reasons why it is a terrorist state. dont even get me started on its control over the terrorists in iraq! and you should really stay away from leftwingers that have replied to this question

Just the basics: Iran is a terrorist state because its government has taken foreigners hostage in the past (its current president may even have been involved), it covertly supports terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezb'allah, and it interferes directly in the internal affairs of other countries such as Iraq by sending covert agents to foment dissent and violence.

Technically, Iran is not a terrorist state. They would have to utilize terrorism as an instrument of state policy to be so.
