Everytime someone farts the 1st thing everyone does is sniff why is that? And why is it that you like your own farts ,but when someone else farts it is nasty?

Most people sniff to see what direction it is coming from. And not all farts are nasty. I won't mention any names here...but Laquondia's smell like rose petals.
PS> If you WANT nasty farts, eat a styrofoam cup. It's biologically inert (that's why you can drink out of it) but will clear a whole gymnasium.

Man I don't know the people you hang with but the people I am around don't sniff farts theres or anybody elses man thats just nasty

The first thing everyone does is *not* sniff. I don't like my own farts, nor anyone else's. I think you are a special case, or I am one.

About the 1st thing you do is sniff - it's because you know what's coming. It's just like when you hear 'boom' you look for the lightning.
As for your own farts you are 'immune' to them so you don't gross yourself out.

Personally, I do not like farts at all. Not even mine. Gross.
And most of the time a person smells it first. It's not like someone says "I farted" and then you sniff. My first reaction is to hold my nose.

I don't know, why would someone fart and sniff the air when they know a fart is going to stink.

They want to sniff so they can make sure that it's something gross they are smelling..duh!

Thats too funny 'cause i just sat here and passed gas. I didn't try to smell it, it just came up to me. I want to know if i smell real bad or not, but i don't want to smell anyone elses.

that's a good question, i think we do it to react to the smell, like if it really smells bad, then everyone says "EWWWWW", but if you can't smell it, then you don't really say anything.
