you can get just about any job you want as long as it does not require a specialized degree i.e., accountant, cpa, lawyer, engineer, astronomer etc.

Most companies look at a degree as your ability to complete a task and of course the new ideas that can come with it.

Secondly, you would be hired into an entry level position to gain experience and learn the way they do business.

So ask yourself, what is it that you like to do and see if there is something that fits.

P.S. I was a corporate recruiter and H.R. Generalist for five years after being a mid-level manager for 20 years.

I guess it depends how far you go with your education. A two year degree will get you no where. A four year degree might get you a teaching job or some sort of manager in a customer service field History degree could make you a town historian! Anything more will get you to the fun stuff about researching and discovering things! Actually traveling or going outside the country. Also since you are in 9th grade you still have time to pick and discover more about these fields! You could find a topic that you could combine the two. Such as a historian on Tibet that knows understands their culture!

Consider working in a library. If you have a Bachelor's Degree, you could work as a library assistant or clerk. If you get a job at a college or university, you could work at the Circulation Desk or in the processing dept. (the benefits are better at colleges and universities)

If you are willing to go for a Master's Degree- consider library school. That will open up many other jobs for you: A Reference Librarian, Cataloger, Special Librarian, etc.

You may want to look into civil service jobs at your city and county. Having a BA is beneficial here- you have the ability to adjust and work around different situations.

I used to think that there was no future in history but those who control the present control the past and those who control the past control the future. You could get a job on Tony Blair's staff.
