How do I know just when I am ovulating?

There is a great book called Your Fertility Signals, Using them to acheive or avoid pregnancy naturally by Merryl Winstein. (Maybe you can find it at your local library) Basically, a women's mucus secretions change during the course of her cycle. When your notice that your mucus secretions are thicker and almost like egg whites, this is when you are ovulating. This method of recognizing ovulation has actually been used in third world countries to help prevent pregnancy.

if you have a regular 28 day cycle then it's easy. you will naturally ovulate around day 14. i feel a slight pinch of pain on either side on day 14 which is like the egg being squeezed out. sounds weird, i know. we had intercourse on days 10, 11, 12 & 13 just to be sure and by the time the egg popped out on day 14 the sperm were there waiting!! it worked and i'm now a few weeks pregnant! if you're not regular then you might need other help charting your cycle or taking your temperature etc. good luck!

1) some women can feel it, a pain on one side called Mittlesmirtz.
2) Your cervical mucus changes and is like egg whites, clear and very stretchy
3) your temperature, you can take your temperature once a day with a basal body thermometer to see ovulation patterns
4) cycle time.. if you have a very regular cycle, you probably ovulate regulary as well, if you have a 28 day cycle, you probably ovulate around the 14th day.

Why only have sex when you're ovulating??!!! Just have fun, be in love - don't make him a baby making machine!
Sex is awesome, have it as much as possible. No, I"m not a hippie. I just never bought an ovulation kit, never saw a fertility specialist - I just stayed in love, and enjoyed life.
Now, I'm pregnant with my 6th & 7th children. All I needed was a wink and a smile.

I just had sex every two days for the month or so and I hit it! I used those ovulation test and they would tell me that I was ovulating and apparently I was not because I got preg. before my period! GOOD LUCK
