The size of the Internet varies, depending on your interpretation of the phrase "how big". If you mean in physical terms, it is not very big. Its just a lot of wires and circuits.
If you mean How Big, as in information wise, you can't really say because it is ever-expanding everyday. Servers go up, and servers come down, so there is an ever changing lever of information available.
If you mean, how big, as in popular, it is huge and ever growing on a continual basis.
As it is the world wide web, now with satellite communications, and wireless connections, it is truly out of this world.

The internet is two computers that are tied together with a piece of string. A hamster on each end reads your email and determines whether or not its spam, and then sends it onto the other hamster if it meets the basic criteria. The other hamster receives this email, takes a jetblue flight to your city, crawls into the back of your computer case and delivers the email to your computer.
To directly answer your question, the internet is two hamsters with lots of frequent flier miles, two PCs, and very strong leg muscles.

The Internet has over 1 million websites at least.
There are hundreds if not thousands of websites being made every day. Each website has approxamently 3 pages.
So the internet is HUGE and growing every day!

According to Comscore data from 2003, there were an estimated 55 million web sites online (globally). This was pre-blog explosion and didn't include sub-domains. I'm confident that, today, there are well over 100 million web sites including blogs.
