A 12 year old, male or female, masturbating is perfectly healthy and normal. By age 10-12 most children have begun to develop their own sexual identities and begun to seriously explore their own bodies. I would not be concerned over this as long as it is done in private and the child knows that it is a very personal and private thing. As to the issue of porn, yeah that's wrong. A child of that age does not have the mental capacity to know that what they are seeing is staged and not the way sex and love should be. Also mainstream porn can lead to poor self image as it promotes Skinny women with large breasts and men with unusually large equipment. Not to mention if the child is getting into non-mainstream porn there is some seriously twisted stuff out there that they will have no idea how to assimilate, much less know that it is not within the normal realm of love. not really unless it becomes habitual. Boys are curious, when I was a teen finding playboy or penthouse in dad's sock drawer give rise to normal curiousity about the opposite sex.
Excessive porn site surfing and masturbation can lead to physiological addictive type behaviors.
All things in moderation. 12 yr old often find if it feels good they will do it more .
I put a porn site filter on my home computers to restrict my son from surfing to truly raunchy sites, where explicit sex acts, and kinky crap exists. We had a long talk about it.
Viewing porn in and of it's self is not bad, but when it consumes the mind it becomes a problem.

No its normal to be curious but porn should not be available to a 12 year old. Although I wish I had porn to look at when I was 12 all I had at 12 was some stupid really softcore no nudity movies.

I don't personally think that masturbating is wrong, but in some states it is illegal from people under 18 (or 21 depending on the state) to look at porn.

Yes, its wrong because you are only 12 if you want to know about your body and the functions there of then you should go see a Dr. or talk to your mom about it but what you are doing is learning about sex the wrong way and in the end its only going to hurt you.

Honestly, it's perfectly natural to be having those feelings at that age. But looking up porn could be a little bit of a problem.

pretty normal ----- your hormones are starting to kick in. Don't look up porn on the net though - you will be caught and there is no way to make that look good
