Its a fairly common problem..& as far as I know it's not your mouse. It's often called "wandering mouse" & a few other names. I have it on one of my computers...haven't bothered to find out what causes it, but I have heard others mention it & as far as I know its not a mouse but a computer probem. The computer which I have this problem on, is a laptop without a mouse ..just a touchpad...so it is not necessarily your mouse.
I have just read farligs answer & sounds good to me!..His must be the best answer lol

Sounds like your mouse ball is dirty.
Turn your mouse over and remove the ball inside, clean the fuzz off the metal arms inside and put mouse back together.

We had this and phoned a help line with the manufacturers, who went through a few steps with us, it didn't cure it but we were still under guarantee so they sent a new mouse and key board ( wireless )

if its a wireless hmouse check the batteries and there might be something stuck underneath it like a crumb or something. If its not wireless check the connection. Or turn your computer off unplug the mouse, plug it back in, THEN turn it back on.

I'd say you need another couple of pints mate, that'll soon stop the flickering ;-)
