1. Go into the management section of the group (link is at the bottom of the blue bar to the left of the home page screen of your group).
2. There will be a link that says delete on the right hand side of the new page. It's close to the top of the management box. That's the button you want to click.
3. the rest....is history.

If you are the Group owner, log into the group and select Management from the menu on the left side bar. You will then see a selection on that page that says "Delete Group" Click there and verify that you want the group deleted.

Go to the yahoo group site,at the top go to account,then delete your yahoo group account ONLY

go to the yahoo group homepage and on it there is a unsubscribe button on it abd click on it and it will delete you from the group.
i did this a week ago and you will need to verified after you do this with the email you sign to group page.

go and un-subscribe from the yahoo group
