Because this is a question and answer forum only. The guidelines for posting questions and answers at Yahoo! Answers spells it out pretty explicitly that no poster is to use their question or comment to advertise a commercial site for which they would benefit financially from the traffic...
They aren't offering free ad space....plus, imagine how fast this place would go downhill if every Tom, Dick or Harry could spam the place with their adverts for penis pumps and black market cialis tablets.

Because nobody wants information on penis enlargement, refinancing a home loan, or get laid tonight- notice a pattern here?
We've got ads everywhere! We need someplace NOT to have ads right?

as said above, to maintain the purpose of this forum. i certainly don't need another place to be bombarded with ads - and might not continue using answers if i was flooded with them.

Because we get enough of that from SPAM, and POPUPS and ADs. Who would come to answer questions if they were targeted for ads? NOT ME.
