Or...would it hit with the mass and inertia of a small automobile, and explode on impact?

Depends. If it was drifting in space, it wouldnt even be noticeable. However, if, like, it was going super fast, say, bullet speed! Then it could be very harmful. Also, it could possibly puncture a hole in the suit, and could kill the astronaut inside.

For the most part though, a grain of sand if almost to small to cause much harm unless it was going to fast for comfort.

I like this question. But a grain of sand may not get past the spacesuit itself. Lets go a little bigger like a pebble. It would hit with the mass of a pebble moving at 50,000 miles per hour or more.
Small hole in. Huge hole out. The sucker would crater the opposite side of your body as it exploded through you.

Space suits are more than pressure vessels. They also have layers of insulation and protection. Many astronauts are impacted by micro-meteorites (size of a grain of sand) and dont even realize it...

I'm guessing no major damage...if it made it through the space suit, it'd be akin to getting punctured by a needle. The suit would not instantly lose air either...it'd be a slow leak and probably give the astronaut time to get back to safety.

It depends on the relative velocity of the meteor. If it made a hole at all, the suit would probably depressurize and kill the guy.

Scientists say all creation was started by an explosion. SO we could then ask the astronaut, there is life on Uranus (ooooh!!!!)
