My God! I just heard the news at lunch....We have been planning a trip to Finland but I don't know now...Those damn Terrorist Bastards....I wish we could blow them off the map! I know..that will probably piss some people off but this is insane! We will probably never ever again be able to take shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, perfume, cologne, etc. on board with us again. Yes I know we can get the items when we arrive on location but this is B.S.!!!
Now they are saying that pretty soon no more cell phones or lap tops either as they have figured out a way to blow the liquid bombs with these items even if they are stowed down below with the suitcases...I believe it was 7 planes from London/UK flying to the U.S. that they were going to bomb. Now they want you to arrive 3-4 hours before your flight for security...remember when you could fly and it wasn't like this...or at least THIS BAD?!?!
Does this piss anyone else the hell off and/or make them even more scared of flying?!

To David U...just FYI...A trip to Finland that we yearly take is 16 hours non stop...hope that explains why we take toothpaste with us on board to use in the bathrooms. I wish some of those passengers DID have their deodorant too...Serious FUNK!

Great there goes our trip to Finland!Actually I was always scared to fly,my Grandfather had a plane[he founded Long John Silvers in Lexington,Kentucky,I might add!]anyway he took my brother and I on his plane from Kentucky to his summer home in Florida, well the pilot was quite fond of Canadian Mist, and it was one scary flight,we stopped in Knoxville gor refuel and I had beefaroni from a vending machine,Bad Idea! But yes I am more terrified and when I used to fly in the 70's they didn't check for anything but guns or knives because there were hijackers!I am very PISSED off!BUT if we stop flying, they have won a small battle! So go to Finland and have fun,I know I will be praying for you,and security will be even tighter now so that is one positive!Where the hell is my sandwich?

I am upset about it whenever anything like this happens. I am not afraid to fly though; I am not going to let some terrorist stop me from doing what I like or such!
I usually just sleep on the plane, talk with the person next to me, or play tricks on the air hostess, and I haven't really had any major issue with someone else's hygiene as you mentioned, but I do understand about brushing your teeth in the flight! The first thing I do when I arrive to my destination is shower and just generally clean up...traveling is brutal enough without a bunch of terrorists to make it more difficult! ...but I still refuse to let them affect my plans!

I actually feel safer flying now than I did a day ago when these people were planning their attack.
The odds of you dying in a terrorist attack are about 10,000 times greater than the already great odds of being struck by lightening, and also much greater than you winning the lottery.
Humans are incapable of conceptualizing odds at this level, so it is very hard to walk around scared all the time.
I will be flying on Monday, and my largest difficulty will be getting to the plane. Once on it is smooth sailing.

I was already terrified of flying and i'm sure i would be even more scared, but now it's going to be too damned inconvenient!! NOT that i'm blaming the people who implemented the changes today (no liquids, gels, etc) just blaming the damn freaks that are so filled with hate!

I've never liked to fly. Not that flying itself ever scared me, I just hated the rigmarole of dealing with airports. I've driven everywhere since 911 just to avoid the more complex security. Now I don't even wanna think about it.
If I ever go overseas again. I hope to someday. I will fly without fear. But not without irritation.

I just flew from Philly to Orlando and back last week with 4 of my friends. One of my friends happens to be diabetic. She has to take insulin injections etc. She knows that in order to carry her needles on the plane she has to get doctors notes to prove that she is actually diabetic. So she went to her doctors & got the notes.
We went through security in Philly & Orlando and she was not stopped once. I also had a lighter in my bag (which is not allowed in carry-on) & they did not stop me. We were really upset that no one questioned her about having needles in her carry on bags. Both of these are major airports! I guess security is that tight.

It kind of makes me feel relieved that my daughter took a bus instead of a plane to visit her relatives 1200 km away. At least I don't have to worry about her return trip and the return trip for the bus is whenever she wants to use it (no set date).

I totally agree...this is BS!!! If they want to blow their own miserable selves up that is one thing but leave the innocent bystanders alone!
Just when people were starting to relax about getting on a plane!
(Only good thing for me. Too broke to travel!)

Don't let arabs to get on the planes. This is radical, but the rest of the world would be able to fly normally. If they let them fly, there should be profiling at airports - every arab or person that looks like one should be fully searched.

Nah, I fly all the time. I'm plannin to join Israeli military so I'd at least try to stop the terrorists any way I can. Btw, u can take this stuff, it just can't be in ur carry-on. Who takes toothpaste and shampoo in their carry-on? I never knew there was a shower in airplanes...
