I think that everyone should strive to be book smart, but in the world we live in today (which seems to be getting worse all the time) people really have to be street smart as well.

it depends which is better for your lifestyle some people who have high social status would probably say book smart. people who grew up with little or nothing would say street smart.
i come from a middle class family but i would have to say street smart is better cause then when you get into trouble it sometimes help to know how to get out of that situation....if you have both smarts then combining the logic would be the best bet

Street smarts are excellent, then you know how to handle yourself in any situation. ME: I'm thankful to have both. I had to use my street smarts to find a way to pay for the added book smarts (college tuition was a B***H)

Street smarts are overrated.
Most people who have 'street smarts' do not have 'smarts' but simply experience.
Is it 'smart' to know how to deal with a drug dealer or is it because you have been forced to do it since a young age.
Most people with 'street smarts' really just have experience which is in no way smarts

I would go with what ever you think. But i would rather be Book smart b/c that type of smartness can get you almost any where in life. S*** even the king of England may want to meet me just b/c i'm Book smart! Hey Stud ( wink, wink)

there is no such thing as having both!! its one or the other!! i would say book smart..since that's what really counts in this society! although street smarts have better common sense!!
