you can download the iTunes software for free. just google iTunes download.
as for buying songs from iTunes, you can buy iTunes cards at Wal-mart, Target, and various other chain stores. You put money on the card, register for an iTunes account, type the code from the card into iTunes, and you should be able to purchase music.

I think you have to use a credit card to get pretty much any music downloading site. That's why I use limewire. It's free.
