If it's the usual white glue they use in schools, it should just wash out without any special treatment.

That really is an excellent question, unfortuntely I don't have any solid answers. First off, it really depends on the type of material the shirt is made from and type of glue used. Most glues that schools use will be pretty basic adhesives which very hot water to loosen it then rinse and remove, but other glues are alot more tricky to deal with.

A lot of people are suggesting hot water but I don't recommed this. HEAT makes a stain set. So whether it's heat from the water or heat from the dyer, it's still heat and the stain will set into the clothes. You should NEVER wash ANY type of clothing in hot water!!!!!!
Peel the glue off the shirt the best you can and then wash it with like colors in WARM (not hot) water. Inspect it before you dry it but it should take the glue off by just washing.

To remove glue from clothes (White, hobby glue, School):
1. Gently scrape (use a spoon) off whatever you can.
2. Soak and agitate in cold water before washing. Do not use hot water it will cause coagulation between the fibers in the yarns of the fabric, making the stain difficult to remove.
3. Inspect before drying if stain is still present. Soak in cold water using a detergent or enzyme presoak product for about 30 minutes. Soak old stains for at least several hours.
Launder in warm (not hot) water, rinse, and inspect. If stain remains, soak an additional 30 minutes, then rewash. (Never put a stained fabric in a dryer. The heat from the dryer can set the stain.)
Always follow garment label warnings and instructions.

Someone once suggested to me that you can freeze it, and then it will flake off.
I have not personally tried this- but it sounds harmless even if it doesn't work.
