Not necessarily.

First labor - Baby boy 7 lbs 13 oz born 9 days early. About 18 hours of labor, including 45 mins of pushing.

Second labor - Baby girl 7 lbs 7 oz born 5 days early. Total labor about 4 hours, including about 12 minutes of pushing.

Third labor - Baby girl 8 lbs even born on her due date. About 6 hours of labor, including just a few minutes of pushing.

All three were spontaniously occuring, unmedicated births.

The shortest labor was the hardest labor. When labor is shorter, you tend to have contractions that are harder and closer together. Basically, getting the same amount of contractions in a shorter time period.

As you can see, each of my pregnancies was slightly longer than the previous one.

Third labor was the easiest...but it was also a home waterbirth. Only really hard thing about first labor was how long it was. Second labor was the most intense.

Nope. Babies come when they're good and ready.

My younger brother was 2 days past due date. My friend's 2nd was 1 week past. Another friend went 2 weeks early.

Well I have heard this too. My second son came earlier by three weeks only cause I have to have a c-section done ASAP. My friends second came three days late. So its a hit and miss like the first one really.

I have heard this, since 'the way out' is clearer the second time. I had a c section for my second, so it was definitely quicker and easier!

Every woman and pregnancy is different. My first was real easy; and when I had my second baby, I was in labor for about 12 hours before I delivered him.

Who ever told you that is a liar. All children are different. When i had my second child lastyear I Swear he was going to kill me the pain was unbelievable and the contractions where seconds apart.Thank God it was over quickly.

I heard it is easier because you have already had one before so you know what to expect. And you arent as tight as you used to be.

It was true for me, My first I was in labor for 16 hours and my second I was in labor for about 4 hours and it was alot faster for me, although my second was alot bigger than my first. He was 5lbs 11oz, and she was 8lbs 1oz. Big difference.
