Who do stud earrings stink so bad after a couple days?

I wear stud earrings, and after a day or two, they really smell bad, like stinky cheese (I know...gross)..but why is it like that? I shower every day and wash my ears and I clean the earrings regularly..what is that horrible smell, and how can I stop it? Is it a yeast problem..too much yeast in my body? Its disgusting!

It depends on your body chemistry with the jewelry. You just have to be clean and keep up what you're doing. Or you can wear hoops or something that does not trap air.

Try alternating studs with open type earrings, the smell comes from body sweat building up behind the earring and on the butterfly backs. All you can do is wash the earrings and your earlobes a lot more.

It's just rotting skin. You need to clean off the earings and probably take out the earings at night to let everything air out really well.

build up on the earrings....try using alcohol on the stem (the part that goes thru your ear) and then put them in so that the alcohol will help to clean the hole in your ear....check to see if there is a buildup on the backs of them also (shampoo and the like)

I've had mine in since Sep '98, and it doesn't stink. Hmm. Sounds like you've got an issue.

idk i have the same problem sometimes.dont worry its not yeast infection. the way i avoid the problem is by cleaning the earring with alcohol before putting it in my ear

b/c there is blood on them. Clean them with alcohol every few days.
