Well, it depends. If you are under 18 then your creatinine should not be above 1.0 mg/dL , which makes that a big enough increase to check why, but, a panic level would be at 10 mg/dL. Increased blood creatinine levels could mean: impaired renal function, chronic nephritis, obstruction, muscle disease, CHF, shock, or dehydration. I would go through with the procedure. Your doctor obviously suspects something is wrong. If you absolutely disagree with him/her, then, you should get a second opinion. But, don't just ignore it.
