Well, they don't let you usually go over 1-2 weeks late, depending on the doctor. I'd say they induce you within the week. Good luck, I remember those last few weeks-UUUGGGHHH!!!!

I know it gets hard at the end when you're basically in month 10 with the pregnancy. Enough already!
When you're late it, deciding to induce depends mainly upon three things:
1. Your doctor's preference (some wait 10 days, others wait 2 weeks or more as long as you and baby are fine and the uterine environment hasn't deteriorated)
2. How sure you and your doctor are about the accuracy of the due date. If it was a rough estimate to begin with, then your doctor may feel there's a good chance you might not be as "late" as you think. But if you know the due date is right on, then he is more likely to act sooner.
3. How successful your doctor thinks induction would be for you given your health history (prior labors if applicable). For example, if you had a prior c-section and you're doing for a VBAC, induction is considered riskier and they will want you to go into labor naturally.
Best of luck as you wait and pray for patience. I'm near the end, too, and my back is killing me. I'm ready to meet this baby and get acquainted with my old body again. LOL

i'm 3days previous due now and my son got here at 37+5.. and that i comprehend theory too. So i comprehend precisely the way you experience. i comprehend some human beings however who swear scheduling the induction positioned them into labour, like the minute it substitute into scheduled they went into labour the day formerly. save your hopes up and supply it some greater days. My healthcare expert won't enable me bypass 40-one+3 because of the fact of blood rigidity and that i surely do no longer prefer induction as my first labour substitute into purely 4hours and induction can carry approximately prolonged labour as you probable comprehend. have you ever tried a membrane sweep? we are doing yet another the following day, one at 39wks did no longer artwork. yet while toddler is waiting it has a intense success cost of bringing labour in 48hours, not greater risky than an inner examination, and that is risk-free and not scientific intervention like induction. it won't artwork if toddler isn't waiting, yet in spite of this induction can fail too after which you finally end up with a csection, a minimum of if this fails no injury is finished. goodluck!!!

Oh NO! Dont you just hate waiting to pop! :) I was 8 days late with my son, i thought i would never get him out! I went in to labor the normal way and he was ok!
Allright, the normal wait that the doctors will give you when your late is a week. Sometimes they might have not had the correct due date! some people are bigger than others and some babys are also! theres no way to tell an exact due date!
my sugesstion to you, would be to try to relax! sit in the bath, go swimming! Get you hubby to rub your back! It will be over soon huny! Just hang in there!

Inducing is not exactly the right thing to do. At 4 days over, they probably won't even consider it. My cousin went 10 days over and they still wouldn't induce her.
Walk as much as you can. Next time you see your doc, see if they'll do some kind of cleaning of your cervix, that's what my cousin said put her into labor. (I don't know exactly what they did.)

I was advised to have an orgasm this brings on labour. I know you may not be "in the mood" but it really does help and it will get your mind off the other pains you are feeling at least for a little while. Good luck :)

i went 2 weeks over my due date before they would induce me. hang in there. you'll see your baby before you know it. try 30 minute walks or 30 minutes in a bubble bath every day. it helped me with those never ending backaches.
