If you a serious about being a journalist don't worry about what college you go to or what grades you get.

You need to start taking initiative and create your own portfolio. Join some photojournalism and writing clubs. Find stories and write articles on them just for fun. Do everything you can to make you stand out from the next guy. Travel a little bit and get even more interesting stories. Keep all of these and create a portfolio that you can show to future employers. Plus you will meet people who can become references on your resume and will help you get better higher paying journalism jobs in the long run.

The best thing you can do is try and get a job or internship in the industry. Anything is good. The more you can learn in the actual field the better. Trust me...the experience on your resume is going to look a lot better than any degree.

No you have to be a good writer and maintain a certian GPA. That's about it. I when to college to study journalism (I switched majors) and it wasn't a really high gpa requirement.

You'll be ok! As long as your grammer is correct, and your research is logical. You'll be perfect for this career move.
