I've never had a drink or liquid container checked at the airport, how did these security officials know to check the containers?

they ha been undercover on this case for a long time .so they new it was what the enemy was trying to do way to go Britain

Intelligence suggested that there were plans to mix liquids (presumably in the toilets) to produce explosives which could be detonated with detonators hidden in electrical devices. Examples of common liquids which could be part of explosive cocktails were said to acetone and peroxide. There was fear that these could be disguised as almost any drink or other liquid.

they had information gained during the investigation, and the history of another guy who was going to use a contact lens cleaner bottle. They will be screening liquids more carefully from now on.

no they always had. since 9/11 they had anyways.. last year my dad took half a gallon of milk (there was little left and he didnt want to waste it maybe about 1/5 left. He was planning on getting food at the food court inside but they made him run the milk in the scanner. made me laugh so hard. lol
