Lets just ignore all his right wing policies and apparent love of crusades, have u ever seen the guy speak? he sounds like a retard, he can barely get his speeches out and most of the time it looks like he hasnt got a clue what hes talking about.... why do americans vote for someone like this? then again as i understand they have a two party system in the us and the other guys policies are near enough exactly the same... good democracy! might as well just get a dictatorship and be done with it

He got voted in the state of florida it was that close that the lawers went in, and his brother was govenor of florida.
prime example of j.f k being voted in is first election for president in the state of illinois carry the vote of 20,000 dead people provided by the mafia.

R.I.P The kennedy's welching on election promises to the mafia
No kennedy will be president of the united states, or they will be wiped out
Which is a fact.

So in this case: so the supreme courts of florida decided without the help govenor jed bush the courts decided the votes of florida to go to george w bush.

So I will leave it to you why george w bush got elected
it was not down to votes

Gee, I don't know, but then I was not involved because I did not vote for him. I'm sure his selection was a crooked deal. Of course, he is not involved...or evolved, for that matter. Its tragic for our country and for the whole world that Bonzo the chimp and his keepers are in the White House. He and others swore up and down that there would be NO civil war in Iraq and just look at the chaos over there now. Bush has "decided" the US and the world into a catastrophic mess. But of course as he says he won't be around to see how history remembers him!

Americans can be very faithful to their party, seeing it as an extension of their family. Bush was not eloquent, but his facial expression were more convivial and he was better at eye contact. It was more important to some Americans that he made eye contact and visited them than to listen to Kerry or Gore espouse grand theory.
I did not vote for him, but I stood in line next to scores of people who did. There was an inherent intimidation in even their posture that did not allow for any conversation on the subject. They did not question the decision, they merely backed "their man." It is interesting that today they might not have voted the same way.

You have to remember that Americans are a nation of easily led, scared people. They are kept scared by their own government because it is easier to get a terrified nation to do as it is told than a nation thats people actually think for themselves.
And, lets not forget, that the majority of the population did not vote for him. He just chose to disregard the votes of the minorities he did not like.
Al Gore would have made a much better President. He is charismatic, friendly, intelligent, honest...need I go on. He is all the things GW Bush is not.

Well, fifty-one percent of the people that voted, which was an abysmally small amount, checked Bush. I was not one of them, being only seventeen, and only sixteen when it was voting time, but I would have been. In the middle of the conflicts in Iraq, would you rather switch from a man who's willing to stand up for what he believes in to a man who will do anything for votes? Or as someone I know put it 'a UN P****'?

I saw him speak at my sister's graduation when he was governor of Texas. I didn't know who the hell he was then (I was too young to care) but his speech skills were so bad that I leaned over and asked my dad, "Who is this moron?" Little did I know that years later he would be our president.

I think the powers that be just wanted him in so they could have a soft puppet to manipulate. And- the country is full of patriotic red necks!

Dictatorship what do you know about dictators. I lived in a dictatorship and went to school next to barbed wire and protesters. You are full of air buddy. Bush is no Dictator. USA is the best country in the world and I am a proud immigrant citizen. As for Bush he will be gone soon so why the complaining. Dictators never step down from office unless they die and we will have election soon.

Despite everyone else's amazing ability to instantly judge people based on their speech and looks, those of us who are less shallow listened to what he actually said. His ideas, his policies, are generally considered pretty sound (except for that liberal 'compassionate' stuff).

He was not an ideal candidate for many of us. But compared to the left-wing Enviro-wanker zealot he ran against the first time, and the boorish snob fake-hero traitor he ran against the second time, it was evident he stood head and shoulders above his competition.

There are subtle and significant policy differences between the two parties.

And we'll pass on the dictatorship, thanks.
