This was my SOL question this year... I'd rather be happy and poor because money can't buy you happiness. It CAN make you happy temporarily, but you'll end up finding something else that will make you happier and have to spend some more money on that, and the cycle continues... I'd rather be happy with my life no matter what financial state that I'm in.

I think I would rather be Happy and Poor. I am use to being this way and I have a friend who is rich and she is so miserable that she does not know what to do. She wants to have fun like we do but she can not cause her boyfriend says were not part of his social class and I think its terrible. So heck yes I am happy and poor.

Well, I am already poor and not happy.
I would rather be rich and happy. Knowing that my bills are paid on time, I have food in the cabinets, I can go on vacations, take better care of my health and continue with classes that interest me.
And I don't think you have to be miserable to be rich if you are well taken care of and you use your money to help family and friends even strangers. And staying grounded and not letting your riches turn you into a materialistic idiot.

HALF THE PEOPLE ON HERE ARE FREAKIN CRAZY! except for the people who choose happy and poor or neither... who says money buys happiness. if you were rich, you could still keep buying **** you don't need, but you would be miserable, why would you want that . AND WHO SAYS MONEY MAKE YOU RICH! can you not be rich of heart? and not everyone wants to buy all this corporate s*hit! you do not need half of what you own. i am an artist. all i care about is my artwork, my art supplies, my sentimental items, and what i need to live... why would i want to have millions and supply these horrible corporate industries that are cutting down forests and not going using more invaluable resources because there is competition. i would never want to be rich..unless i had my own business. the rich people of the world are destroying it to pocket cash, not caring about other people's lives! dont tell me i can't be happy and poor(but only poor in goods not life)

i did like what that summer girl said though about staying grounded and not becoming to materialistic, you go girl

Happy and poor, i'm actually working towards it, i'm currently rich(2 cars plus a big house on a hill) and working to be happy, and towards having more of a home (tiny house, one car). I'm not miserable, but hey what do i know (i do see a psychologist at least 3 times a week, because i'm required to because of past actions - if it helps u picture my situation) hope this helps.

Miserable and rich because when you are poor, you can't be happy when you can't pay the bills and you are afraid about whether or not you will have food to eat or electric or heat. I know. I am there.

A lot of people I know seem to think that money could buy them happiness, but I don't agree or rich people wouldn't commit suicide, so I am for "happy and poor" all the way.

Happy and Poor. People fail to realize that $$$$$ doesn't make everyone happy. As long as you are resourseful and have good positive people around you that's all you need. I have a roof over my head, food in my belly, and a life to live. I can't spend my life being depressed about not having enough $$$$. Therefore I just suck it up, pay what i can, hustle up a way to pay the rest, and continue to be happy.
