ok here i go again on a rant:

I think it is an absolute pile of propagandising bullcrap. I watched the ITN newsflash at 10.30am today and found it odd that this programme was already listed on NTL services. I found it strange that John Reid had agreed on this strategy in parliament a month ago, and at 2am after this so called bunch of arrests that
a) they were televising this especially as it is supposedly an ongoing investigation - the rest of the alleged terrorists will be well aware now that the police are on the hunt - so much for any element of surprise
b) the airports were not evacuated - if i was a terrorist and had liquid explosive in my handluggage i would be a suicidal bomber and with an airport of thousands of stranded passengers my cause would be served regardless of the altitude. In other words the threat to waiting passengers was not addressed.
c) we were told that normal flights would resume at 2pm. Wow thats really good that they can have us all panic and then business as usual will be safe after lunch.
d) there was talk last month of stopping hand luggage as it was costing the airlines money compared to checking in and paying - this seems a great way of implementing this money saver by getting the folks on side thru fear
e) if it was all over and done with and no longer a threat - why in the hell did they tell us and have us standing about in an airport checking in luggage in a plastic bag - if the threat was sorted then no need for all that malarky.

I personally dont get it - it doesnt ring true. The one sure thing that will come from this is an absolute hatred of anyone Muslim. There will be a groundswell of intolerance until some mad BNP party gets in to power.

Seems surreal.. We've just returned from a holiday in Spain, I'm so glad we went when we did, and even then I thought queuing up for 20 min to check in was tiring! Must be a real mayhem in the airports, how are people coping?! Having said that, I'd rather queue for a couple of hours and not take anything on board than run the risk of being blown up. Scary..

I was really scared, .
but as the day unfolded and we got more information and was glad that the attempt to do so much damage to peoples lives was thwarted.A big well done to the authorities who managed to stop this carnage, But how many times are we going to have to go through this

Besides the horrific concept that people with no minds of their own have way too much time on their hands if they are sitting around following instructions from the village idiot on how to construct a bomb and bring it in pieces onto a plane so we can further detract from the idea some day acheiving world peace you mean?

I can't quite decide if this is a triumph for our security services, which lets be honest. By past experience seems unlikely.
Or its another scam on the part of our government to keep us all scared and to distract attention from the situation in Israel, which even at its most cynical seems equally unlikely.
This of course presupposes that the security services haven't just made their usual mistake and gone in gun ho without doing their proper homework.

i am very angry.
we opened our borders to these people, clothed ,fed and housed them. They are free to worship here without hindrance and yet still repay us in the only way they know...violence...
Anyone ,caught carrying out, planning a terrorist attack should be deported along with their families.it may make them think twice if the realise their families will be kicked out of the country too.
