Truth is, you won't know until it hits you. And it may not hit you like a ton of bricks. She could be a friend first, someone you know casually for a long time, and one day something she says or does will just get to you. I like that better than the whole "Love at first sight" thing, because it's not so superficial.
One more thing--there's not just ONE love of your life. There will probably be several. Don't lose your head if you lose your heart to someone who doesn't feel the same way about you. There are lots of terrific people in the world--stay open to the possibilities and you won't miss them.
