I saw this rumour again yesterday, and feel that too much time has passed since the last one and the end of the TV series. Seems to me like the are testing the water, tying to drum up fans to demand it. I don't ever think they will. Anyway would it be so bad if they didn't make one. I mean we can just remember the good first three seasons and the last few without David Duchovny in them. Robert Patrick made the last couple of seasons watchable.

i'm crossing my fingers besides that a 2d movie will come out (with David and Gillian reprising their roles - i don't think of i ought to show screen it in the adventure that they weren't waiting to do the movie, for one reason or yet another) - rumours are all around the 'internet, in spite of the undeniable fact that i'd not be lining up on the cinema till the script is done, the actors are signed and they commence filming :D

All of the major players have been signed on for some time now, but they haven't gotten it together yet. I think there's some kind of contract dispute or something tying it up.
