I mean. If i had a picture of my face up instead of an avatar, wouldnt that make me think twice before posting stuff that would be offensive to other people, since they could possibly track me down or already know me.

Somewhat. People are going to talk crap because other people have no way of locating them. The picture that they put on the screen may not even be theirs. They are cowards. I bet you that they won't say all that crap in person.
